On 8 March 2025, IOM and partners marked International Women’s Day at the Centre de Ressources Frontalier in Ouanaminthe, a key assistance point for migrants returned from the Dominican Republic—many of whom are women and children arriving in vulnerable situations. The event elevated the voices of migrant women, highlighted the protection risks they face during return and reintegration, and promoted their rights within safe, orderly, and dignified migration processes. Activities included psychosocial support, art‑based therapy, and discussions on gender equality. IOM provides immediate humanitarian assistance—including food, water, medical care, and hygiene and dignity kits—along with specialized services for unaccompanied and separated children and survivors of gender‑based violence. Longer‑term programming supports women‑headed households and promotes sustainable reintegration. This photo series captures the strength, resilience, and solidarity of migrant women, reaffirming that migration can be a pathway to opportunity—not vulnerability.
