IOM Director General's visit to Kyrgyzstan

International Organization for Migration (IOM) Director General Amy Pope made her first-ever visit to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan working with key partners and government officials on ways in which migration can contribute to economic growth and sustainable development in the region. During her visit in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek, DG Pope met with H.E. Prime-Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and reiterated how migration can significantly impact Kyrgyzstan’s socio-economic landscape. DG Pope then joined partners to officially open the pre-departure orientation and reintegration centre for migrants. The centre will equip prospective and returning migrants with the necessary tools to have a safe migration experience.
