In 2016, IOM provided cash assistance to over 6,000 vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) in 13 regions of Ukraine within the project, funded by the Government of Germany.
Elderly people aged 70 and over, families with three or more children, disabled people, and single-headed IDP families were provided UAH 1,980 (USD 70) per person in two rounds of payments. Almost a half of the project beneficiaries were minors.
According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy, there are over 1.6 million officially registered IDPs in the country.
