Since a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Ecuador’s coast on 16 April 2016, it is estimated that thousands of people are in need of humanitarian aid. As of 28 April, 659 deaths and at least 4,605 injured have been reported as a result of the disaster. Individuals have sought refuge in temporary shelters, whilst an unknown number reside in spontaneous sites and within host communities.
